My Woman Crush Wednesday: Style Icon Audrey Hepburn

I didn't know about #WCW until recently, which if you don't know means Woman Crush Wednesday.  One of the women who I have a "crush" on is the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.   The Givenchy black gown accessorized with black elbow gloves that Audrey wore in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is an iconic look recognized by everyone.

She was the epitome of style and grace.  But she wasn't just a pretty face; she devoted much of her later life to UNICEF and became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Who's your #WCW?

Michael Costello Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2015

The Michael Costello Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Show was a collection of sultry and dramatic dresses and gowns.  This was the first time I attended his show and I was pleasantly surprised
The show started with floral and lace cocktail dresses and gowns in mint and cream.
It soon graduated to metallic blues and green gowns with plunging necklines and dramatic kimono sleeves.

Backstage Photos + Vivienne Tam X Zeuse Clutch and Phone Charger

Spotted backstage at Vivienne Tam: Carmen Electra!

Something else I saw backstage: Vivienne Tam X ZEUSÉ clutches that double as phone chargers.  I'm surprised no one came up with this idea sooner, because I think every woman could use this!  I love the pretty Chinese inspired designs, especially the floral blue and white one.  Unfortunately, they're not on the market yet, so I'll be keeping an eye out when they'll be available to buy!

Wedge Booties for Fall under $100

Fall is soon approaching and I realize that I have only 2 pairs of boots, both of which are knee high. I've been looking for short booties for everyday wear that could go with jeans or skirts and leggings. I decided to go with wedges for the comfort factor. since I run around NYC all day long. As for height, I prefer a little bit of heel, but not too much, 2 to 3 inches max. I like black and brown leather for a basic look but a bit of hardware to give a little edge. Here are some of my picks for under $100 wedges.

Tadashi Shoji at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015

This season Tadashi Shoji was inspired by the Italian city of canals, Venice. Mr. Shoji showed plenty of delicate frocks, frothy with floral lace, sheer silk, and sequins. The color scheme ranged from sophisticated black and white to more subdued hues of mint, lavender, and peach, fitting for an elegant night out in the famed city of romance.

Malan Breton Spring/Summer 2015: A Journey to Taiwan

This season's Malan Breton show, A Journey to Taiwan, was inspired by the Aborigine people of Taiwan.  The  runway was lined with Chinese zithers and the show opened with a lively Aborigine Taiwanese dance performance with dancers wearing bright, colorful  costumes.
The show was a parade of elegant gowns and stylish suits made of satin silk floral brocade in vibrant hues.

I especially loved the brilliant red jacket and sleeveless tunic for women.  Bathing suits  were also included in the lineup, one with a floral wrap.

On the Runway at the Vivienne Tam Show: Walking Comfortable

At the Vivienne Tam Spring/Summer 2015 Show in NYC yesterday, it looked like comfortable Birkentstock-like sandals are here to stay for a bit.  Models wore the shoes paired with shorts,  skirts, and long dresses.  Since the sandal was brought back to the mainstream by the one and only Marc Jacobs, brands from Zara to Givenchy have embraced the look, and produced their own versions of it.   Who am I to argue with wearing comfortable sandals with sheer socks?   Would wear this look?
